CMA did a complete refit for the new owners of Reef Quest III, converting it from a dedicated dive/snorkel vessel into a luxury day tripping excursion vessel.

CMA recently undertook a comprehensive refit of the Reef Quest III, transforming it from a dedicated dive and snorkel vessel into a sophisticated, luxury day-tripping excursion vessel that offers an unparalleled experience for travellers. Now under the ownership of Sealink, this 24-meter catamaran has been meticulously upgraded to combine elegance, comfort, and adventure, providing a new level of day trips around the stunning Whitsunday Islands. Operating out of Shute Harbour, Reef Quest III is now perfectly equipped to offer visitors a unique way to explore the pristine beauty of the Whitsundays, blending seamless access to breathtaking island destinations with the opulence and amenities that elevate every journey.

Fabrication tasks undertaken:

  • Major hull corrosion repairs completed after a full sandblast of the entire vessel.
  • The lower and upper external weather deck was replaced due to major corrosion.
  • Removed the dive platform and modified the transom with an addition of a new davit/crane system to enable the carrying, loading and unloading of an 8m tender Integral fuel tanks were fully reconditioned.
  • All new custom curved lounges on both main and second level externals.
  • New awning extension on second level.
  • New foredeck arrangement including hatch repositioning, anchor winch foundations, bollards and approved cyclone lugs.
  • Void ventilation in and out in all voids.

Engineering tasks undertaken:

  • 2 x Sewerage treatment systems installed and 4 new toilet systems.
  • Replaced 2 generators.
  • Replaced 1 engine.
  • Full bilge system upgrades.
  • New fire hydrant system with outlets front and rear out of copper nickel.
  • Fresh water system replacement.
  • New shaft and rudder bearings and seals installed.
  • All new sea strainers installed.
  • All new underwater valves and stand pipes replaced.
  • New seawater cooled air conditioning system installed.
  • New heavy duty hydraulic system for crane/davit installed.
  • New anchor winch system installed.

Fitout tasks undertaken:

  • New custom curved passenger lounges including upholstery.
  • New carpet and vinyl floor coverings (internal / external) over 3 decks.
  • New ceiling linings (interior / exterior).
  • Full internal and external paint system.
  • Full underwater paint system.
  • Custom wrap to suit customers branding (including murals in the toilets and bar areas).
  • Install and upgrade electronics.
  • Update and refresh full AC/DC electrical systems.
  • All doors fully refurbished with new closers.
  • Convert wetsuit locker into an air conditioned store room.
